Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are topiclly applied acids that create a uniform and controlled shedding of skin layers. Depending on the type and strength of acid, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots and sun damage can be obliterated.
Types of peels:
- Superficial -Glycolic or salicylic acid peels improve texture and even out skin tone. No downtime!
- Medium -Trichloro acetic acid (TCA) peels (15 -20%) improve fine lines and more serious pigmentation problems. Recovery time is from 3 to 5 days.
- Deep -TCA (20-30%) produces the most dramatic results for deep lines. These target the mid to deep dermal layer and result in a week of peeling.
